Why a little bike shop?
The short.... to be able to spend more time with family, friends and to ride my bike.
As my wife and I began having kids it became very apparent that work (hours/travel time etc...) was impacting my work life balance. I wanted to take control over and have more freedom in how work impacted my time, the only way to do that would be to start my own business.
I know you are now thinking, "as an entrepreneur and sole proprietor you end up working longer hours.... right?"
True, but I have some degree of control in how those hours are spent.
The shop has regular hours around being a father as well as being available to the majority of my clientele (think evenings and weekend), but I have the ability to close up and attend events, go on rides with clients, pursue my own cycling goals and more importantly, be available as a father and a husband. The hope being that my clientele recognize and understand these attributing factors to my chosen life style and can accept that sometimes I need to be:
"Closed for my convenience!"
